Our hearty Bolognese sauce is made from slow-simmering walnuts, cremini mushrooms, and red lentils in a tomato sauce with all your favourite herbs and spices: basil, oregano, garlic, red chili flakes and more. Heat sauce in a pan and mix with desired pasta - it's that easy! If your sauce is frozen, thaw it in the fridge overnight, or in a warm water bath for 5-10 minutes. You’ll want to thaw it until the sauce comes out of the package nice and easily.

Here’s a couple of pro tips for you… 

Pro-tip #1: After extensive (taste) testing, we’ve determined that the optimal sauce-to-pasta ratio is one pack of sauce to 225 grams of dry pasta. 

Pro-tip #2: Want a little extra richness (who doesn’t?!)? Save 1/4 cup of pasta water and stir it into the sauce; then combine with cooked pasta and warm over low heat for 1-2 minutes. We promise, it’s worth the effort. 

Pro-tip #3: You’re not limited to pasta with this sauce. Add it to lasagna, baked pasta dishes, nachos, or sloppy joes to really take things to the next level. 

We recommend you store your Bolognese in the freezer. If thawed, cook it up within five days. Cook thoroughly to an internal temperature of 75C (165F).

We deliver on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10-4pm in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. You'll be able to choose which day you prefer at checkout. The day before expected delivery, we will give you a text/call reminder your Komo vegan classics will be arriving the following day. We’ll text/call you again on the day of delivery, before arriving. We recommend keeping your meal frozen until you’re ready to cook.

To reduce the amount of packaging waste with our local deliveries, we’re using fewer styrofoam boxes, single-use ice packs and thermal bags. Orders will be delivered in a kraft paper bag and we’ll make sure you know we’re coming, so you never miss a Komo vegan meals delivery.
